Oxfordshire Stately Home

Oxfordshire Stately Home Before

As part of the restoration of an 18th century Grade II listed stately home, EcoLogic was asked to carry out paint removal in a number of rooms throughout the property.

For approximately 20 years the home had been used as a public building and the old staff quarters, kitchens and plant rooms had been painted in numerous layers of white gloss. Now back in private ownership, the restoration project aimed to restore the mansion to its former glory.

Because the substrates were different in each room, ranging from a variety of ceramic tiles to porous limestone, EcoLogic used a series of non-abrasive cleaning techniques to ensure that the original decor remained in tact.

Although works were only carried out on the ground floor, equipment needed to be moved throughout other rooms of the building on a regular basis and EcoLogic operatives took exceptional care to ensure that this was done with no disruption to the rest of the house
